A Vision of Lucy By Margret Brownly is the typical older time period love story of two people from two worlds. As Lucy and David meet and fall in love they are presented with trail after trail as their love tries to withstand them all, including past regrets, past secretes, and the ever present growing love between. And lastly they have to figure out where God is in all of this.
I really enjoyed reading this book. This is the typical book that I would pick up and read. It is set in the older time period and it is a love story. The author did a great job of pulling God into the book. Lucy's relationship with God was real and honest, and it was relate-able. We have all probably felt at one time or another how Lucy was feeling about her "unanswered" prayers. The only thing I would have changed is I would have made their relationships with God stronger and at times the theology was a little off. To me the theology was a little to modern, trying to please everyone. But overall the use of God and a relationship with God was used and portrayed well. I also enjoyed the dynamics of the characters. They each had their secrets and somewhat of a hidden or difficult past. The story line was developed well and didn't seem to linger to long in one area. Overall I really liked the book.
