Wow the Lord is so good. It was about a year ago that a presentation was done during chapel about WAR International a non profit organization that helps sex trafficked women. It was then that my roommates interest in helping these girls was first sparked, and God only added fuel to the fire over the summer. After summer she would tell me all this stuff all the time. All very interesting information but I wasn't much interested in helping, but was glad that she was. However over time God really began to change my heart.
It was 3.5 weeks before spring break and my roommate got an email explaining how we could help an organization in Ohio, The Daughter Project. One of the biggest ways as of now that we could help was by throwing a shower for them.
Out of no where God blessed me with the strongest desire to do something with/for this organization. It was then that we decided to throw a shower for them. I decided to throw my shower at home over spring break.
The next 3.5 weeks were a blur, they went by faster than I could have imagined, which meant crazy amounts of preparation went to down in a matter of no time!! But God was so good and I got everything done.
At the shower there were about 18 in attendance, I would love for there to have been more, however the people that did come and/or gave blessed my life so much. The Lord presented me with the awesome opportunity to give a presentation on sex trafficking and my only prayer was that it would be used for His glory.
The reason I write all of this is to share this next part.... God is getting His well deserved glory. The shower brought more awareness to the situation in turn causes a few of the women at my home church to have a prayer meeting to pray about this situation and the people involved in it. I got the call tonight that explained all of this to me, it is such a blessing in my life that such an awesome God is being praised and loved and that more people want to help.
So all of this to share the fact that God is so good and works ALL THE TIME and I can't help but smile right now because God is being gloried and lives are changing and we as a body of Christ are being to love each other a little bit more, and it is so amazing and wonderful.
