Children Desiring God Conference

The Lord blessed my family and I so much with the opportunity to go the the CDG conference in Minnesota in early March. For those of you that don't know CDG is a resource mainly used in Sunday School and was developed through Desiring God, which is supported by John Piper. His church is the founder of the CDG curriculum.
The main idea of the conference was to teach teachers, parents and pastors how to use and implement this curriculum. They also had a few other workshops that had a broader range to them than just using the curriculum that they provide.
This was such a unique and awesome opportunity. The first session was taught by John Piper (SUPER SUPER SUPER amazing message) and then there were three more general session over the course of two other days taught by Russell Moore, David Michael, and Kempton Turner. All of these guys did a great job of presenting the Word of God in a different but effective manner. In fact it was Michael that quoted the entire book of Ephesians through his message, and no he did not use his Bible, he straight up quoted it.
There were also four break out sessions over the course of the other two days. I was so blessed to attend many of the sessions on teaching in the classroom for younger children (ages 0-5 is mostly what was covered where I went) which is such a blessing because those are the ages that I work with the most. They gave such cool ways to implement worship songs and games into a lesson and yet still make it profitable for the kids at the same time.
The other super cool thing was that my co-teacher (the main teacher) was also able to attend the conference, it was such a blessing to be able to attend together and both gather new ideas and a new way of thinking for our class. We are completely redesigning our class and the way we want to teach in it. We want so much to use our time more wisely than we have been. One really encouraging part for me was the emphasis on prayer in the classroom with the kids, and that was one area that I felt we did a pretty good job in.
I am now so excited to graduate and go home to start implementing all of our new ideas and concepts!!! I am so excited to see what God has for our class and where He will take us next.
May God be gloried in what we are teaching!
