Heaven

I have been reading the book HEAVEN by Randy Alcorn. This book is so great! I have never thought about Heaven the way he talks about it and explains it. He has done such a great job thus far in reading and knowing and understanding what the scripture is saying about Heaven. I always thought of Heaven as a place that I could not even imagine it was just going to be so great. But Alcorn brought up the idea that if we can't even imagine Heaven then why would we look forward to going there? I had never thought of it that way. Also he has went in depth about the present Heaven and the New Heaven. There is such a difference and scripture really does support the difference. I have been working very hard at not just reading a book and believing everything that the author is saying. If I learned one this at school that would be one of them. You can't take everything that any author says and believe it, even if it is a very Biblical author and one that you agree with scripturally. So as I have been reading through this book I have been making a conscience effort to look up and look at every scripture reference and do my best to verify that scripture is not being taken out of context or missed used. Thus far Alcorn has done such an excellent job of researching Heaven and helping to explain it to help create an intense desire for Heaven. Our end result on earth is working for an eternal life in Heaven. If we don't know about Heaven and don't understand Heaven then why would we want to work for it. I am not far at all in the book but am so excited for an eternal life with God in Heaven, this book has already started to change my thoughts on Heaven and what it will be like. I can't wait to finish the book and study Heaven more. What a blessing this book has been.
